Mike McNamee is a Professor of Ethics at KU Leuven, Belgium, and holds a Professorship of Applied Ethics at Swansea University, UK. He is the Programme Director of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Sport Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) and the Marie Sklodowska Curie Doctoral Training Network in Sport Ethics and Integrity (DAiSI). He is also the Director of the interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics, Regulation, and Integrity in Sport (iICERIS). With dual backgrounds in philosophy and sports sciences, he has lectured for almost 40 years in the fields of engineering, medicine, and sport. He has authored several books on sports ethics and bioethics, including Sports, Virtues and Vices (2008), Sport, Medicine, Ethics (2016), and Bioethics, Genetics, and Sport (2018). He is the Founding Editor of the international journal “Sport, Ethics and Philosophy” and Co-Editor of Routledge’s “Sport Ethics” book series. Additionally, he chairs the WADA’s Ethics Expert Group and the UKAD’s Therapeutic Use Exemption Fairness Committee. Currently, he is working on a book on Sport Integrity, Betting, and Crime.
